Happy Birthday Conan
Happy Birthday to my wonderful husband. We had a party yesterday before the Luau and his family and my mom and some of our friends came over! It was so fun to see everyone and we had such a good time. Conan is such a wonderful guy and I can really say that he makes me laugh!! No one knows how to crack me up like him. He is such a great father to the kids. We had a good lunch and of course Conan's favorite Chocolate Eclair Cake!! It was so great to have so many frineds and family around us. We are truly blessed to have all of you. He go some wonderful gifts that he is excited to use. Thanks everyone! Happy Birthday Handsome!! I love you!
LUAU!!
Yesterday we were invited to a Luau up in West Valley! It was so awesome. Conan grew up in California and went to scouts with a great guy named Masi Ika. They had lost touch up until about a year ago. After Ty left to go to Ventura we found out that his son was also going there. He went about 2 months after Ty. Well about 2 weeks ago they were made companions. Masi called us and invited us up to the Luau. It was so fun and interesting. They had cooked so much wonderful food. There was beautiful dancing and tradition there. It was so great to be a part of that. Masi and his family are so generous and loving. Thanks Masi for a wonderful time!!
Vacation
Last week we returned from a wonderful vacation. We went to Arizona to visit Barb and Bob for a couple of days. We went swimming in Auntie Mary & Uncle Dick's pool. We also went to the Phoenix Zoo. It was so much fun. We wish we could have stayed longer. Then we were off to the Bay area. We went to the Muir woods which is a Redwood forest. Those trees are gigantic. There was a redwood tree that had fallen and for some reason swarms of lady bugs had migrated there onto that tree. It was so cool, there must have been many thousands of ladybugs there. It was beautiful. On the way to the hotel we stopped at a pumpkin patch that had inflatables. The kids got to jump and slide and had a great time. The next day we went to the California academy of Sciences Museum. It has just opened after 4 long years of rebuilding. It was incredible. They have a beautiful aquarium, a swamp, a hall of Africa, play places for the kids and a planetarium. The roof is also made of living things. It was so cool and fun. The next day it was off to San Jose. We went to the children's museum there and the kids had so much fun. They have face painting, a room for the kids to just dance in, all kinds of activities for the kids. They had a water room that had different ways to get balls from one place to another. My kids loved this especially Jaxie. They had so many play areas for the kids that actually taught them things. It was such a hands on place for the kids that they really enjoyed it. I even made a corn husk doll there. It was a hit. We even found a Chevy's restaurant there. We so miss it here. On our last day we had tickets to Alcatraz. We left early and went down to Pier 39 to see the Sea Lions. The kids loved that and then off to the boat to Alcatraz. It was a beautiful day and we had so much fun there. There was a man named Darwin Coon there and he is one of the last 5 surviving men who served time at Alcatraz. He was there to tell his story. The kids got to ask him questions. Brittan asked what he did to get there, he was a bank robber. Zac asked how long he was there and he said 4 years. We thought we were done and then Brittan said she had one more question. He said OK and she asked, How bad were you? Luckily he laughed and said he really was a good guy just made some mistakes but he never hurt anyone. It is so good to have inquiring minds. Then we drove up to the Oakland temple. What a beautiful place. I met a sister serving that was from Hong Kong and one from Spanish Fork. What a small world. It was great! We had a great time and are so blessed to be able to spend time together in such fun places!!
Grandparent's Day
On Friday October 3rd Brittan had her first Grandparents day at school. She was so excited to have her Grammie and Grandma Linda come. Unfortunately Linda had to leave town and wasn't able to make it but Grammie came up from Manti and they had a great time. Brittan and the other kindergartners sang for the grandparents and then they were able to sit in the lunchroom and bring either a snack or a lunch. Since Grammie had driven all the way up we were all going to go out to lunch so we made a special snack, Frosted Graham Crackers. My kids love them and so does Grammie. It was a great day and we are so glad we have such a wonderful Grammie to come all this way for Brittan!! We love you!

The Flag King!!!
Zac had his last flag football game last night. He has done so well. I am really quite sad to see the season end. At first I wasn't so sure this was going to be a good thing. He was put on a team where he didn't know anyone and the other boys had played together the year before and all go to the same school. He wasn't very sure about himself and didn't assert himself very well. It only took a few games before he got right in there and has been the flag king ever since. He has a great ability to know what to expect from the other team and be there to get the flags. He is great at blocking, receiving, kicking and pulling flags. Last night was the height of his glory and he got 12 flags!! He was so happy! His coaches were very happy with him and I am so proud of him for learning to be a great teammate and making friends with those that he didn't know. He has really learned a lot. I am so proud of him and his accomplishments! Way to go Zackie bug!!
My Little Dancer
Brittan is back in the full swing of dancing. She loves it so much and can't wait to go. I love for her to go because she enjoys it so much. This is her 4th year and she is consistently getting better. The only thing that is tough is that it is at 6:00 PM on Monday nights. She has great teachers and I love the studio. And she sure looks cute!!
