Terry

Last Tuesday September 9, 2008 our wonderful and loving friend, Terry Williams was killed in a dump truck accident. He has been our neighbor and great friend for quite a few years. He and his awesome wife Linda were never blessed with children of their own so all of us became their children and our children their grandchildren. Only after we had all adopted each other did we find out that Conan and Linda really are cousins. Terry was such a funny and loving man. He always had a joke to tell and a kind word to say. I never walked away that I wasn't chuckling. He also gave the best hugs! It was quite a shock when the phone call came last Tuesday. Our world was turned upside down. It seems that his brakes failed and that he did all that he could to keep others out of harms way. He was always thinking of others. I will miss his smile and having him sit with us at church. He loved the kids and was so great with them. Brittan slept over there one night and was so excited to do it again until she realized that Papa Terry wasn't going to be there to make her pancakes. Zac loved to go over and just play and wrestle with him. He always was there for us. He alwyas came to everything that the kids were involved in. He came to ball games, birthday parties, blessings, baptisms and everything else we could invite him to. Although it has been really hard it also makes me so grateful for the gospel. I am so glad that I know that he is with our Father in Heaven and that he is OK. We will see him again. It was Terry's time to return to haven and Serve his other mission. I can only hope that my kids grow up to be like him, a loving, kind, responsible, patriotic, and God loving person. We love you Terry and we miss you!

Bob Trivett's Silver Beaver

Today was a very special day for Conan's old scout master. He was so great to Conan and spent many years in the scouting program. Conan always tells me funny memories about scouts and specifically Brother Trivett. He has always said that he learned more from him that anyone else except for his parents. He is so wonderful. He and his wonderful wife Sandy moved to Payson from California. Anytime that we have a special occasion they are here. They have been to every one of our children's blessings and also when Conan was put into our bishopric. They wonderful people whom we love dearly. Today Brother Trivett received his Silver Beaver award for scouting. This is a huge honor and is the highest award that you can receive in the scouting world. You have to donate a lot of time and energy and only a select few ever receive this honor. Conan was invited to a banquet at BYU to observe the ceremony. There were many of his buddies from his younger days there. He was so happy to visit with, Shaun Fudge, David Burnell, Robert Alderman, Chad Robison, Tracy Trivett Grant, and Steve Trivett. He had a great time and said that it was fun to catch up with everyone. Congratulations Brother Trivett!! We can't think of anyone that deserves it more!!

Jaxie's Haircut

I had to post these cute pictures of Jaxon. He got his hair all cut off yesterday. He has had his hair trimmed at least 4 times. We would cut around his ears and on the top a little. His hair grows so fast that it was long again in no time. When he would wake up or ride in the car it would get all nappy and tangled and then he would be mad at me for combing it. He was so great to just sit there and didn't even fuss once. He looks so cute. Conan doesn't love it, but he doesn't even like his own hair really short. I think he is the cutest boy ever!! We love you Jaxie!

It's About Time!!

I just have to write about the great night away that Conan & I had on Friday! It has been 2 years since we went anywhere overnight away from the kids. We have tried to plan a night away many times but something has always prevented it. So about a month ago Conan planned a night away. He called my mom to watch the kids and made a reservation and everything. Then about a week later he called me and told me that he had to work and that it wasn't going to work out. I was understandably disappointed but I understood. Well on Sunday of last week Conan started not feeling all that well and decided that he needed to go to the doctor to get checked out. He had a nasty virus and ended up staying home for the week. It was so great to have him home. We decided since he was home to take advantage and go away. Mom was so great and willing to watch the kids so on Friday morning we left. It was great. We went shopping at the mall and then we went out to lunch at Rumbi (YUM!) We decided to go to IKEA to look for a new computer desk and some other things. It was fun and of course we brought home a computer desk and a few other things. Conan had decided that he wanted to go over to Boondocks and ride the go-carts. The picture is of the 2 of us waiting in line. We had a blast. Then it was off to the hotel and then out for dinner and ice cream and just hanging out. It was so much fun to just spend time with my wonderful husband. I think sometimes we get so used to doing everything for the kids that we sometimes loose ourselves. We had such a great time and I need to tell my Mom thanks again!! You're the best! I also need to tell Conan thanks!! I couldn't ask for a better husband. Now I can't wait to do it again!!
