Jaxon's Stitches

As I was trying to catch up on our blog today, Jaxie and the kids were playing in the family room. I kept telling them to settle down and not be rough but you know kids especially boys. Brittan laid down by the entertainment center with a blanket over her and Jaxie would jump on her and they would tickle him. Well it only took 1 hard jump and Jaxie went face first into the entertainment center. The result??? 5 stitches in his eyelid and 2 on his lip. It was tough going getting those in. I guess he will be the kid always pointing at his scars and telling stories!!! What a kid!

Brittan

Brittan had her pictures for dance taken the other day. She is such a beautiful girl and so sweet. I am so glad that she is my daughter!! Love ya Britters!!!

Vacation

We were so lucky and blessed to be able to take a family vacation with Grammie to go see Val and Joe in Georgia. We left on April 29 and flew to Baltimore Maryland. We were able to go down to the Harbor and to Camden Yards and hear an Orioles game in full swing. It was too cold to go to the game. We had such a great time seeing the sights and also a scary light rail ride through some really scary areas of Baltimore. Some kids even threw big rocks and hit the train. It definitely was an experience.

On Thursday we flew the rest of the way and were able to see the cousins. They always have such a great time when they are together. They even made a cousins club that had rules and everything. It was so great. We went to Fort Pulaski and to Downtown Savannah and the Cotton Exchange. We got to ride the ferry across the Savannah river and everything. Of course the trip wouldn't be complete without some pralines. It was great. Brittan also lost a tooth while we were there (with a little help from Ellla!! Thanks sweet girl!!) We also had a late night trip on Friday night to the ER. It was very eventful.

On Saturday we were off to Hilton Head Island and an incredible beach house donated by some awesome people. Grammie even had her own condo and all the girls went over and spent the night with her. That takes a lot and they had a great time. Thanks grammie!! We had so much fun at the beach and in our own private pool. The island was beautiful and we loved it so much. There was Harbor town and the plantation we were on. We had a great time. The kids loved it and so did we. Jaxie was fascinated one night by a bug. It was a cockroach or coke-crotch as Ella calls them. We just had a great time. We were sad to leave and wish we could have stayed longer. The weather was great and it was great to just be together!! Thanks everyone for the wonderful time.

Passing of my Uncle Keith

My uncle Keith lost his long battle with cancer on April 23, 2009. He was my Mom's brother and we all called him Charlie chicken. He came out a few years ago and was so excited to see everyone. My kids loved him and were very fascinated by his fake leg. He was such a good sport about it. I went down with my Mom and Mark to Tucson AZ for his funeral. He will truly be missed. This is a picture of my mom and the remaining Scheibe children. It was good to see everyone and it really made me appreciate my family and life so much more. I came home and hugged my family really tight. We need to enjoy every minute because we never know when our lives could change drastically.

Handome Boys

This was the week after Easter. Conan and Jaxon look so handsome in this picture. I am so lucky to have them.

Hogle Zoo

On Saturday, we went to the zoo and let the older kids take friends. Brittan took our neighbor Makenzie and Zac took his good friend Jensen. We left early and had such a great day. The weather was perfect and saw lots of the animals. We saw two black bears fighting and biting each other. This left quite an impression on Jaxon and he still gets so excited to tell you about the bears. It was such a fun day for everyone. It is so fun to spend time together.

Dinosaur Museum

We are so lucky here to have so many fun things around us. On the 3rd day of spring break we went to the dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving point. The kids love this place and this time Jaxie had such a great time. As you can see even we had a good time goofing around. We went to JCW's to eat by recommendation of Shanna B. It was so good and I even ran into an old friend from home. It was another fabulous day!!

Aquarium

This year for spring break we decided to do some fun things with the kids. The first day we went to the Living Aquarium in Sandy. It was really fun and they have a new exhibit that the kids loved. They also loved the tide pools where they can touch the animals and learn about them. Jaxie loves Nemo so when we saw Bruce he was so excited until Conan lifted him up by him, then he kind of freaked out. We went to Mimi's for lunch and then to the new Nordstrom Rack. It was such a fun day. The next day we were so tired and so we just stayed home in our jammies and chilled. It was so great. Jaxie is sure a daddy's boy!!

Easter

Easter was such a fun time for us. The Easter bunny comes to our house on Friday night so that the kids can hunt for eggs on Saturday and enjoy their treats. Then on Sunday we can really focus on the real meaning of Easter. This year was really cold and rainy on Saturday, so the egg hunt took place in the house. The kids had a great time and loved their baskets. Then on Sunday we went to church and then went up to Dale and Sharon's for dinner. It was great even though Jaxie wasn't feeling well. We had a great weekend!!

Troy

Troy has been playing baseball for Orem High again this year. It is hard to believe he is a senior and will graduate in a few short weeks. He played a lot of 3rd base and did such a great job. I wish we could have made it to more games but the games we went to were great!!! Way to go Troy-Boy!!

Egg Drop

The Friday before Easter was Brittan's egg drop at school. We had to hard boil and color an egg, then we had to figure a way to protect the egg so that when it was thrown off of the roof of the school it would not break. Brittan chose to wrap her egg in bubble wrap multiple times and then tie helium balloons to it so that it would float down. When it came time to throw the eggs down, Brittan's balloons and her friend Katana's balloons got all twisted together so we had a 2 for 1 throw. Success!!! Brittan's egg did not break!! She was so egg-cited. Thanks Mrs. Eckchardt, you are awesome!!

Weekend getaway!!!

I can't believe it has been almost 3 months since my last post. Lot's of things to post about but I just haven't taken the time to blog about it so here we go.

In March my awesome Mom came up and stayed with the kids so that Conan & I could get away for a weekend. We left on Friday morning and came back on Sunday. We were originally going to go out of state but due to full flights and time constraints we went up to Salt Lake. We were able to go to the Jospeh Smith movie and Conan got to go to the conference center. We had dinner and went to a movie. On Saturday we went to the This is the place monument and out to the golden spike monument, wow what a long drive. Then home again on Sunday. It was so great to spend time with my wonderful husband!!! Thanks Grammie for staying with the kids so we could have a great weekend.
